You have been given the privilege of probation instead of going to jail. You should feel lucky.
However, there are things you must do to remain on probation and out of jail. You will need to
come in for an intake and at that time your probation officer will develop a probation plan for you
based on the Court's orders. Probation is an opportunity for you to make significant changes in your
life, which will keep you from returning to the court system.
Having a Positive Probation Experience
|
C&D has some suggestions for you if you want to succeed while on probation:
|
- Be responsible, accountable, and honest. You are the one who made the choices that got you
where you are. You can also make positive choices if you want to.
- Follow the terms of your probation. They are the Judges orders not ours. We can't change
them or delete them.
- Be honest with your Probation Officer. If you violate the conditions of your probation it is
better to be honest and up front than to hide it. We will find out.
- Do not miss your monthly visit because this is a violation of your probation.
- You may want to avoid associating with people who are a poor influence on you, tempting you
to engage in further illegal activity and behaviors.
- If you are ordered to do treatment, then do it. If you miss classes you will violate your
probation.
- No children or person 17 & under allowed in the probation office. No family members,
mothers, fathers, wives, girlfriends, or other persons allowed. PROBATION CLIENTS
ONLY! Do not bring others to your monthly meeting.
